Booking and confirmation
Products showing a Book online button can be booked through secure checkout. Your booking is confirmed automatically once the required payment succeeds and you receive a booking reference and confirmation. Dates held during checkout are temporary until payment succeeds. Products requiring eligibility or compatibility checks remain available by booking request; sending a request does not reserve stock or take payment. We confirm the price, inclusions and applicable conditions before accepting those bookings. Collection and return are by appointment; contact us to agree the handover times before travelling. Keep your confirmation and a copy of these terms.
Hire payments
For an agreed booking more than 14 days before collection, pay 25% of the hire price to book, or choose to pay in full. Any remaining hire balance is due 14 days before collection. Bookings made 14 days or less before collection require full hire payment. The 25% payment forms part of the hire price; it is separate from the refundable damage deposit. Online payments are processed securely by Stripe. Klarna, where offered and approved at checkout, pays the full hire price to us; you repay Klarna according to its separate agreement. Klarna is not offered for the refundable damage deposit. If you choose the 25% hire payment, we email a secure link for the balance; we do not automatically charge your card.
Collection and return days both count as hire days. Any extras and the total payable will be disclosed before you agree. We will contact you about an overdue balance and give a reasonable opportunity to resolve it before cancelling; the cancellation rules below apply.
Refundable damage deposits
A separate deposit is required for each item hired, payable before handover. It is not included in the hire price or the 25% booking payment.
- VW T5 campervan: £1,000
- VW LT28 motorhome: £1,000
- TentBox roof tent: £250
- Portable power station: £200
- Paddleboard: £100 per board
- Single inflatable kayak: £100 per kayak
The amount shown on your listing and final quote applies. Deposits for multiple items are added together. We record condition and included accessories at handover and check them on return. Normal wear and tear is not charged.
We aim to initiate the return of your deposit within 7 calendar days of return and inspection. If we propose a deduction, we will explain it and provide supporting evidence and a reasonable cost breakdown. We will return the undisputed amount within that period, keep you informed about any amount held for assessment, and give you an opportunity to respond. Your payment provider may take additional time to process the refund.
Deductions are limited to reasonable, evidenced loss for which you are responsible, such as damage beyond fair wear and tear, missing accessories or exceptional cleaning beyond normal use. We account for age and condition and do not charge twice for the same loss. The deposit is not insurance and is not an automatic limit on liability; any further claim must be justified under the hire agreement and applicable law.
Cancellations and changes
Contact us in writing using the email above, giving your booking reference. Cancellations received more than 14 days before the agreed collection time receive a full refund of hire payments. For cancellations 14 days or less before collection, any deduction is limited to reasonable actual cancellation losses, taking account of costs saved and income from rebooking. The 25% booking payment is not automatically forfeited. We will explain any deduction and refund the remaining amount. If no hire takes place, the damage deposit is returned in full.
Date changes depend on availability and an agreed revised quote. If we cancel or cannot supply your agreed hire, you can receive a full refund of payments for the affected hire; you do not have to accept an alternative. These terms do not limit any further statutory remedies. Where a statutory cancellation right applies, it takes priority.
Campervan and motorhome drivers
Drivers must be aged 25 or over and have held a full appropriate driving licence for at least 2 years. These are the minimum age and licence-history requirements. All drivers must also meet the insurer’s other eligibility and permitted-use conditions, which we will confirm before accepting a vehicle booking or payment. Only approved drivers may drive. The vehicle’s weight and your licence entitlement must be compatible.
Using and returning your hire
Use equipment only for its intended purpose and follow the handover instructions, manufacturer limits and any agreed safety requirements. Do not sub-hire it or allow unapproved vehicle drivers. Report faults, damage, loss or accidents promptly and stop using unsafe equipment. Do not arrange non-emergency repairs without contacting us. Return all items and accessories at the agreed place and time in the condition expected after reasonable use. Tell us promptly if you may be late; any extension or additional charge must be reasonable and explained.
Roof tents require confirmed vehicle compatibility and safe fitting before hire. Watersports equipment must be suitable for the user, location and conditions; follow the safety briefing and use an appropriate buoyancy aid. We confirm what is included before booking. Keep electrical equipment dry and within its rated limits.
Problems, rights and privacy
Contact us promptly if the hire is faulty or does not match what was agreed so we can address it. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under consumer law, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Personal information is handled as described in our privacy policy.
These terms apply to new hire agreements made using this version. Changes do not alter an existing confirmed agreement unless mutually agreed. Version: 6 October 2026.
